The democratization of design has led to the devaluation of our profession. “I woodn’t exist without a designer” is the result of opening a debate and raising questions about our role as designers. This project works within the realm of the poster, a format heavily affected by this mass phenomenon.
Experimentation and material exaggeration are our means of expression to translate our discourse into a physical piece.
To work far from the screens meant struggling with the limitations of designing on materials with unpredictable behaviors, a lower margin of error, and greater finesse and precision. Both the final poster and the creative process not only reflect on everything we have already mentioned but are also an exemplification of the designer's appreciation in every step of the way.
La democratització del disseny ha comportat una devaluació de la nostra professió. “I woodn’t exist without a designer” és el resultat d’obrir un debat i plantejar preguntes sobre el nostre rol com a dissenyadors. Aquest projecte se situa en l’àmbit del cartell, un format profundament afectat per aquest fenomen massiu. L’experimentació i l’exageració matèrica són els nostres recursos d’expressió per traduir el discurs en una peça física.
Treballar lluny de les pantalles ha implicat enfrontar-se a les limitacions de dissenyar amb materials de comportaments imprevisibles, un marge d’error més reduït i una necessitat de major precisió i delicadesa. Tant el cartell final com el procés creatiu no només reflexionen sobre tot allò que ja hem esmentat, sinó que també exemplifiquen el valor que el dissenyador aporta a cada pas del camí.
