LINOCUT TYPEFACE

This project arises from the desire to work manually with typography. It is based on three key points: typography as the main element of interest, the progressive deformation of the letter as the goal, and the tool as the driver of this deformation.
After experimenting with different tools and distortions, I present the LINOCUT TYPEFACE.
Working with linocut means that the result is intrinsically tied to the possibilities and limitations of the tool. Each letter is designed to deform from “thin” to “bold,” but each one has its own challenges. AND THIS IS WHERE ITS BEAUTY LIES.

Aquest projecte neix del desig de treballar manualment amb la tipografia. Es basa en tres punts clau: la tipografia com a element principal d’interès, la deformació progressiva de la lletra com a objectiu, i l’eina com a motor d’aquesta deformació.
Després d’experimentar amb diferents eines i distorsions, presento la LINOCUT TYPEFACE.
Treballar amb linòleum implica que el resultat està intrínsecament lligat a les possibilitats i limitacions de l’eina. Cada lletra està dissenyada per deformar-se del “fina” al “negreta”, però cadascuna presenta els seus propis reptes. I ÉS PRECISAMENT AQUI ON RESIDEIX LA SEVA BELLESA.
